Hints From Our Lab |
General
Properly
disinfect all cases.
Clearly
mark the outside of the bag on all "Infectious disease" cases.
Anticipate
pick-ups and request them as early as possible.
Request
cases back a day before the patient is due (when possible).
Prior
to sending in rush cases, please call and alert us.
Clearly
state the patient's name on the Rx
Technical
Clearly
state the type of restoration to be fabricated (i.e., Valplast partial,
Cusil partial, full denture, porcelain fused to metal crown, etc.).
Always
provide a counter model and bite, especially for partial frames.
Send
study models or pre-op models whenever possible (especially for anterior
bridges and full dentures.)
When
selecting a mould, be sure the shade is available in that mould.
If
dentures need to be reset, always try in again before processing.
Supply
shades always, even for repairs when available.
Impressions
& Bites
Use
full arch impressions when possible.
Use
alginate for partial frames and Valplast partials.
Pour
up any alginate impressions before sending them to the lab.
Be
sure partials are fully seated in the impression before pouring.
Ream
out and relieve and undercuts before taking a reline wash.
When
taking bites, blue mousse is preferred (particularly for crown & bridge).
